Week 3 Wrap-up
(Note: these posts were moved here from heknits.blogspot.com)
I feel good. I feel really good.
I've lost 8 pounds and I ran five times last week for a total of 13.35 miles!
The eight pounds isn't as much as I'd like after 3 weeks, but I suppose it's a safe and healthy rate and it will put me at my goal by August.
I'm pushing myself a bit on my runs. I did intervals today and kept going for a 5K distance. I probably should have stopped at two miles or walked the last mile. I'm wary of getting injured if I try to do too much too fast.
I also hit a new level on NikeRunning.com. You start off at Yellow level when you join the website and as you build up more mileage, you progress to the next color level, similar to belt colors in martial arts. I went from Yellow to Orange when I hit 31 miles. The next level is green, but that's 122 miles away...about 12 weeks at my current goal pace (10 miles/week). It seems kind of frivolous or silly, but I was pretty excited to be at Orange.
Finally, this blog was supposed to be mostly about knitting, but I'm not doing a lot of knitting. Currently working on a pair of socks for Max...he got to try them on when I was in Mexico last week. I think they are a little small, but he says they're okay. Still, I might frog to the start of the heel and redo them. Mérida also got me inspired to work on another project I've been planning...cute kids sweater or afghan, but more on that later. So, with the limited knitting content, I'm thinking of taking the running/weight loss to a new blog. Although, I suppose if I leave it hear, it will give me a reason to make some knitting progress so I can post about it. It's also enough of a challenge to keep one blog going...

This is going to be a quick post. I may edit it later to add a photo.
I'm just back from vacation! I had a great time and even managed to get in a few runs with Max.
I was really nervous about going to Merida right as I'm starting my new push to lose weight and exercise more because I LOVE the food there. And it's so hard to not indulge when you're on vacation.
But I did pretty good! I had some of the food I love and drank a few beers at the beach, but also had salad for lunch a couple of days. I didn't weigh myself right before I left, but I'm down three more pounds, so I'm still on track. I'm hoping next week I'll be under 200 lbs again. Fingers crossed.
